Due to the good water quality, the Croatian underwater world offers a habitat to a diverse animal and plant world. No wonder it's so popular with snorkelers and divers. Among others, the endangered noble pen shell (Latin Pinna nobilis, Croatian „Plemenita Periska“) can be found here. The mussel is a protected species and it is forbidden to take it from the sea. However, if you are lucky enough to come across one of these beautiful specimens on a dive, feel free to take some pictures to commemorate this special moment!
